Honoring the 25th Anniversary of the Signing of the National Literacy Act.

On June 9, 2016, the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy hosted the inaugural National Celebration of Reading at the Library of Congress. This event brought together members of the Bush family, celebrity authors and entertainers, and supporters to celebrate the power of literacy, and to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the signing of the National Literacy Act.

Watch the event from start to finish and enjoy a special musical performance by Lynda Carter, commentary by Library of Congress Historian John Cole, and readings by our outstanding lineup of guest authors: Jon Meacham, Laura Bush and Jenna Bush Hager, A.J. Jacobs, and David Baldacci.
